We’re excited to share that Optimalist, our mental health optimizing app, was selected as a finalist at the Latinas in Tech Startup Competition—an event celebrating innovation, leadership, and impact across the tech industry.
As its founder, I created Optimalist to address a major challenge in the mental health field: people dropping out of therapy before they begin to see meaningful results.
Every year, over 41.5 million U.S. adults receive psychotherapy—but only 1 in 5 complete their treatment. Many individuals feel discouraged when they can’t track progress or sustain the strategies discussed in therapy sessions.
Optimalist changes that.
The app provides customized coping tools, reminders, and data-driven feedback that can be shared with therapists to enhance treatment outcomes. By using physiological data (such as stress levels measured through the phone’s camera), Optimalist helps users identify which tools are most effective for them—so they can see, in real time, what’s actually helping reduce stress and improve wellbeing.
This measurable approach empowers users to stay engaged, make informed choices about their mental health, and feel in control of their healing journey.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between therapy and technology, making mental health support more personalized, evidence-based, and accessible. Since our launch, we’ve reached nearly 100 active users and built partnerships with wellness professionals who integrate Optimalist into their practice.
Being recognized by Latinas in Tech as a finalist is an incredible honor—one that highlights not only our innovation, but also the growing presence of Latinas driving meaningful change in tech and mental health.
Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in the power of combining science, empathy, and technology to optimize mental wellbeing.
